Cancellation Policy for Private & Dive Charters

Thank you for choosing The Mersquad Yachting for your private charter and dive instructor/guide services. We understand that plans may change, and we aim to provide a fair and transparent cancellation policy. Please carefully read the following terms and conditions.

Reservation and Deposit:

  • For bookings made more than (one week) 7 days prior to the scheduled charter date, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total charter fee is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to the scheduled charter date.
  • For bookings made one week (7 days) prior to the charter date, the full payment of the charter fee is required.
  • Last-minute bookings made within 24 - 48 hours of the charter date will incur a last-minute service charge of 10% of the total charter fee.

Cancellation by the Client:

  • Cancellations made 14 days or more before the scheduled charter date will forfeit the non-refundable deposit.
  • Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled charter date will forfeit the entire charter fee.


Rescheduling:

  • Requests to reschedule the charter date can be considered, subject to availability.
  • Rescheduling requests made 14 days or more before the original charter date may incur a rescheduling fee of 10% of the total charter fee.
  • Rescheduling requests made within 7 days of the original charter date may be subject to additional fees and are subject to availability.

Cancellation by The Mersquad Yachting:

  • In the unlikely event that The Mersquad Yachting must cancel the charter due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather conditions, mechanical issues), we will make every effort to reschedule the charter or provide a full refund of the charter fee, not including the deposit.

No-Show Policy:

  • If the client fails to arrive at the designated departure location at the scheduled time without prior notice, the entire charter fee will be forfeited.

Weather Conditions:

  • In the event of adverse weather conditions that could affect the safety of the charter, The Mersquad reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the charter. In such cases, the cancellation policy will be applied.

Client Responsibilities:

  • Clients are responsible for monitoring weather conditions and ensuring that all participants are aware of the charter details.
  • Failure to adhere to safety guidelines or providing inaccurate information that results in cancellation may result in the forfeiture of the entire charter fee.

Dive Guide Duties Policy

At The Mersquad Yachting, we value professionalism and focus on providing the best possible experience for our guests. To ensure clarity and adherence to roles, we have established the following policy regarding the duties of dive instructors/guides onboard your yacht:

Defined Responsibilities:

  • Dive Instructors/Guides are hired for specific roles, which ONLY include conducting recreational diving activities for guests onboard.

Scope of Duties:

  • Dive instructors/Guides are expected to fulfill their designated responsibilities as outlined in their job description and agreed-upon terms of employment.
  • Their primary focus should be on providing safe and enjoyable recreational diving experiences for guests.

Limitations:

  • Dive instructors/Guides are not authorized to engage in activities beyond their designated duties without prior approval from the management team.
  • Engaging in additional tasks or responsibilities unrelated to recreational diving, such as providing non-diving related services, commercial diving, for guests, crew, or vessel is not permitted.

Prohibition of Commercial Diving:

  • Engaging in commercial diving activities, including but not limited to underwater maintenance to yacht or boats, salvage operations, or underwater construction, is strictly prohibited for dive instructors/guides hired to conduct recreational diving.
  • Commercial diving requires specialized training, certification, and insurance coverage that may not be provided or applicable to dive instructors/guides hired for recreational purposes.
  • Performing commercial diving tasks without the necessary insurances or qualifications poses significant safety risks to both the dive instructor/guides and others involve.
  • Our DAN Professional Liability insurance does not cover our dive instructors/guides for any activities outside of recreational diving.

Professional Conduct:

  • Dive instructors are expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times while onboard the yacht.
  • Any personal conflicts or issues should be handled discreetly and professionally, without impacting the guest experience. This should be brought to the attention of The Mersquad Yachting's Operations and Management Team.

Compliance:

  • Dive instructors/Guides are required to comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols related to recreational diving activities.
  • Failure to adhere to these policies may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Communication:

  • Dive instructors should communicate any concerns or requests related to their duties to the appropriate supervisory personnel or The Mersquad Yachting management team.
  • Open and transparent communication is encouraged to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Guest Focus:

  • Dive instructors should prioritize the needs and safety of guests participating in recreational diving activities.
  • Providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive guest experience is paramount.

Training and Development:

  • Dive instructors may participate in additional training and development opportunities provided by the company to enhance their skills and knowledge in recreational diving.

Guest Interaction and Dive Guide Code of Conduct

At The Mersquad Yachting, we strive to provide an exceptional and enjoyable experience for all our guests. To maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere onboard and during dive trips, we have established the following code of conduct. We expect all guests and dive guides to adhere to these guidelines for a safe and pleasant environment.

Respect and Courtesy:

  • All guests are expected to treat the crew, staff, and fellow passengers with respect and courtesy.
  • Offensive language, discriminatory remarks, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated.

Safety First:

  • Follow all safety instructions provided by the crew and dive guides.
  • Engage in responsible behavior to ensure the safety of yourself and others during all activities.

Communication:

  • Communicate any concerns or special requests to the crew or dive guides in a calm and respectful manner.
  • Avoid raising your voice or using aggressive language when addressing any issues.

Equipment Care:

  • Treat all equipment, including diving gear, with care and respect.
  • Report any damage or malfunction promptly to the crew or dive guides.

Responsible Diving:

  • Abide by the guidelines and instructions provided by the dive guides during dive trips.
  • Avoid touching or damaging marine life, and adhere to environmentally friendly diving practices.

Intoxication:

  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages is not allowed if you are participating in any dive activities.
  • Guests are not permitted to engage in any water activities, including diving, while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Dispute Resolution:

  • In the event of a disagreement or dissatisfaction, approach the crew or dive guides to address the issue calmly and respectfully.
  • Physical or verbal aggression will not be tolerated.

Crew and Dive Guide Authority:

  • Follow the instructions and guidance provided by the crew and dive guides.
  • Disregarding instructions that could compromise safety or the overall experience may result in removal from the activity.
  • The dive instructors are all professionals and hold top PADI Ratings, they will use sound judgment when conducting dives and if the dive is aborted because of safety or for any reason please respect the decision of that instructor. There are times when you as the participant may not see or understand the dangers that can arise during ocean activities.

Consequences of Violations:

  • Failure to adhere to this code of conduct may result in the termination of the guest's participation in activities or the entire charter without refund.
  • Repeated or severe violations may lead to a ban from future services provided by The Mersquad Yachting.

*Please note: If our dive instructors/guides are required to  travel outside of Nassau to the yacht the following are included in the initial estimate and  is subject to change: Airfare, Accommodations, and Pier Diem.


In the event that you require our Chase Dive Boat to move in tandem with your yacht, you will be required to pay a day rate for the instructor/guide, the chase boat, and the captain. At the end of the charter, the yacht must close out the chase boat fuel bill. Each dive day, fuel consumption is calculated and a slip is emailed to the yacht's captain or first officer. Fuel prices vary depending on where we dive. 


A 50% deposit is required to secure your date, which is non-refundable

In the case of a dive guide on standby during your trip, you must pay a full day rate, which is non-refundable.
